How much is a flight to japan from chicago or california?

I want to know how much it is to go to japan starting from chicago or california. Just to japan not a round trip flight.

1. Depends on the airline, time of year, and Travel agency.. buying straight from the airline itself would cost a lot of money, probably around $1000-1500+ one way.but then again.. those were Delta prices AA prices are usually lower but the tickets tend to go fast!
2. you seriously couldn't go to http://www.orbitz.com http://www.travelocity.com http://www.cheapoair.com or anything similiar and do a mock ticket purchase? Why waste time waiting for an answer when you could have found out yourself? Tickets can range from as cheap as $800 w/tax to about $7,000 w/tax USD.
3. You need to check to see if one way is cheaper or not. sometimes round trip tickets are cheaper...so just get that and throw the other one away.
